Scope of the conference

International conference ”Nuclear Option in Countries with Small and Medium Electricity Grids” has become traditional place to discuss various issues related to the use and development of nuclear energy in truly international level. Decade of successful organisation in Dubrovnik has been recognised by the traditional co-organiser IAEA and ENS as major sponsor. Although the conference is focused on the various aspects and specific needs of the countries with limited grid size, topics of the conference cover broad interests of professionals in nuclear and energy sector related to the implementation of the nuclear option for the production of electrical energy. To that aim the Conference will consider nuclear option from the point of view of its position as one of the major resource available for the reduction of the CO2 emissions, market position of the nuclear energy, development of the new reactor technologies, organisational, educational and social requirements for the implementation of nuclear energy for the electricity production. As a part of the Conference tradition, it will also serve as forum for the discussion on the various aspects of the operation and safety of the nuclear power plants, nuclear liability, regulatory practice and radioactive waste management.
